Comrades of the World Unite!
Words from Comrade James!
Tena koutou,
Kia ora and G'day from Aotearoa, New Zealand.
New computer designed for the physically impaired finally received. Trackball mouse and Voice Dictation capable. Still a weird experience using a microphone to control most the Windows Office software functions, but definitely a lot easier on my hands.
Manuscript Writing is going well, if a little slowly. The aim is get writing around 5,000 to 10,000 words per month and gradually work on specifics as the year goes on.
Aside from studies I've been keeping up with the water based exercise and will be assessed for my permanent impairment level at the end of the month by ACC. In New Zealand, the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) deals with accidents at home and in the work place, covering treatment and medication, surgery and rehabilitation. It's not perfect, but ACC was designed to be a no-fault system that removed the adversarial legal process of litigation from injury claims.
Have sent off emails and notes to those who kept in touch while I went through the last few months with injured hands, arms and now shoulders and back.
Thank you for your emails and notes of support.
Ma te Atua e manaaki,
James.
